Megrez - δ Ursae Majoris (delta Ursae Majoris)

Altitude: 78.8°   Azimuth: 306.3°   Direction: North-West

Megrez, also designated as δ Ursae Majoris (delta Ursae Majoris), is a variable and multiple main-sequence star in the constellation of Ursa Major.

Megrez visual magnitude is 3.31. Because of its moderate brightness, Megrez should be easily visible from locations with dark skies, while it can be barely visible, or not visible at all, from skies affected by light pollution.

The proper motion of Megrez is 0.104 arcsec per year in Right Ascension and 0.009 arcsec per year in Declination and the associated displacement for the next 1000 years is represented with the red arrow.
