Latest image received from New Horizons, distance is now 14.9M km and we’re now 12 days from the flyby. As always image has been enlarged and sharpened. Some small scale artifacts might be present in the image.
It’s more and more evident how the surface has different reflectivity, with brighter and darker areas separated by a sharp transition zone. The darker areas on the left are still mysterious, while having some resemblance to large impact craters.
