NGC 3448 (alternatively named Arp 2015) is an interesting object. It is classified as an irregular spiral galaxy, interacting with another galaxy named UGC 6016, which is visible in the above image as a faint nebulosity just below and slightly right of it. Redshift measurements confirm that these two objects are at the same distance, about 78 million light years from our galaxy. This sysyem is an example of a Galactic Train Wreck.
