After the successful wakeup following the deep space hybernation on January 20 2014, Spacecraft Rosetta is now completing the final approach to Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The spacecraft is still 5 million kilometers from the Comet, and the approach period will last until May-June 2014. However, seen from Earth, the two objects are apparently very close, such that it is possible to see both of them within the same real time sky map on TheSkyLive.

Like all the sky maps on, the positions of the Spacecraft and the Comet are automatically updated and in real time so it is possible to use the sky map to follow the progress of the approach phase.
