A picture of recently discovered comet P/2013 V3 (Nevski)

This image has been taken on Nov 19, 2013 at 11.30 UTC using the T21 telescope of the iTelescope service (431mm, f/4.5). Conditions were not ideal because of the presence of the Moon. Comet’s brightness seems approximately comparable to galaxy PGC 27237 (magnitude 14.90), visible in the same field. Further information about P/2013 V3 (Nevski): Live Tracker…

Added new comet C/2013 V5 (Oukaimeden)

Newly discovered comet C/2013 V5 (Oukaimeden) has been added to The Sky Live. The comet will reach perihelion on September 27, 2014 and, according to current estimates, it will become quite bright (magnitude 5-6) around that date. Currently comet’s brightness is around magnitude 18. See live position or compute ephemerides and generate sky charts.

New bright comet discovered: C/2013 V3 (Nevski)

The newly discovered comet C/2013 V3 Nevski has been added to The Sky Live. It’s now possible to see the comet’s live position or compute ephemerides and generate sky charts. Although predictions estimate it of magnitude 15-16, it recently brightened up, and some observers reporited it being around magnitude 10, so accessible with small instruments.
